You might notice a little button in each podcast entry. This is the way cool Musicplayer Flash button from musicplayer.sourceforge.net, an opensource flash file that let's you stream mp3 files on your website. Encoding fixed for Flash Players
Written by Snapper Morgan
Friday, 03 June 2005
It seems that the flash player has a bug in it that when an mp3 file is encoded to a certain bitrate and sample rate, the file sounds like "the chipmunks christmas album". That could explain why my stats showed the mp3 files only being downloaded partially. At least I hope so. It couldn't be because they suck. Nope. Pure Gold....

Anyway, I have re-encoded all of my files using another opensource tool called "toolame" at a higher bitrate. I figured, hey, people with broadband are the ones downloading, and more and more people are getting broadband, so what's a little more file size? Plus, they sound better.

I updated all the links in the RSS file and for each blog entry to reflect the filename changes too. It's been a long night.

What is Podcasting?
So, you've heard a lot about Podcasting on the radio or maybe you've read about it in your local newspaper. Just what the hell is it? Sounds vaguely alien-like, akin to some sort of possession or perhaps fly-fishing for extra-terrestrials. It's really very simple. Podcasting is the automatic downloading of your favorite internet broadcasts in the form of MP3 files.
